The Kerala unit of Jamaat-Islami Hind has condemned the ouster of Egypt President Mohammed Morsy.

It called upon the Union government to extend support to the movement for restoration of democracy in Egypt. “What is happening in Egypt is an attempt to end democracy by ousting Mr. Morsy who came to power through elections. Zionists and imperialistic forces are behind this move,” a spokesman of Jamaat–Islami Hind said. The spokesman said the internment of Mr. Morsy and the arrest of the leaders of Muslim Brotherhood raised grave concern about the future of Egypt.
