The Edacherry police on Friday arrested P.V. Rafeeque aka Vazhappapadachi Rafeeque, an accused in the case of killing T.P. Chandrasekharan, in connection with another case pending against him.

A team of police personnel arrested him from the premises of the Special Additional Sessions Court (Marad Cases), at Eranhipalam here.

A long pending warrant had been issued against him by the Vadakara First Class Magistrate Court in 1999.

The police had registered a case against Rafeeque in connection with a vehicle accident in 1994.

He had knocked down a person.

But the police all these years were confused regarding his name.

Regarding the Onchiyam murder case, Rafeeque has been accused of forgery by putting his signature on a cheque of the Kodiyeri Cooperative Bank.

The cheque belonged to C.K. Rajinath (25th accused). This cheque had been given as security to V. Rijesh for obtaining on rent the Toyota Innova multi utility vehicle for the use of the alleged assailants of Chandrashekaran on May 4, 2012.
