Onchiyam case: Probe into role of kingpins sought

January 03, 2014 10:36 am | Updated May 13, 2016 06:54 am IST - Kozhikode:

The first responsibility of the newly inducted Home Minister is to bring to light the involvement of kingpins behind the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T.P. Chandrasekharan through a proper enquiry, Union Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran has said.

He was speaking to the media on Thursday after a visit to the house of V. Anoop, a Hindu Aikya Vedi worker who suffered serious injuries during a political clash and later died at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

Police reports

Mr. Ramachandran said the police investigation reports submitted in the court had already mentioned the need to conduct a comprehensive enquiry into the conspiracy that led to the murder.

“The role of Communist Party of India (Marxist) leaders in Kannur and Kozhikode districts too should be probed,” he demanded.
