Kerala has been on the front row for The Hindu for all of its 135-year history. As the dominant English language newspaper in this part of India, it has covered the region and the State in some detail. In 1995, the first of three editions in the State was started, with enhanced regional content. Coming closer still to the Malayali psyche, today we are publishing for the first time a special supplement in Malayalam, quite fittingly on the occasion of Onam. While noted Malayalam writers have largely contributed to its eclectic and diverse content, the supplement’s planning, conception and design have been handled by The Hindu’s own editorial team — who have been able to bring to play their bi-lingual abilities in undertaking a humble labour of love. Do enjoy the fare in ‘Onakkazhcha’. Feedback is welcome, at gokerala@thehindu.co.in
