Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Koodaranhi village office. The government had spent ₹30.8 lakh on the project, the foundation stone of which was laid in 2015.

Inaugurating the building, Mr. Chandrasekharan said complaints of farmers, who were suspected of holding forest land as farm land, would be considered seriously.

So far, 400 such complaints have reached the Revenue Department from Kozhikode district alone, he added.

On court orders pertaining to the possession of such properties, the Minister said no legal action could be taken against those who occupied such land before 1977. The government has received one lakh complaints from across the State, he pointed out.
