The third edition of the painting exhibition ‘Vellathinte Peril’ (in the name of water) that is under way here strives to stress on the dangers posed by the indiscriminate exploitation of precious natural resources by humans.

The 28 paintings with water as their theme by Rajendran Pullur, being exhibited at the Art Gallery here, aptly points to the stark reality of the contemporary world that is being stripped of natural resources by vested business interests.

“The portraits and paintings should not be just confined to adorn the walls of home and museums, but it should be used to reflect the stark realities faced by the contemporary society,” Mr. Rajendran, a 39-year-old artist working with the Microbiology Department at the Kozhikode Medical College, says.
