Muslim Youth League to launch ‘yatra’ against communalism

The Muslim Youth League will launch a 12-day ‘Yuva Sandesha Yatra’ with the message against communalism in the district from Saturday.

Minister for Industries P.K. Kunhalikutty will flag off the yatra, led by Najeed Kanthapuram, at a public meeting at Ramanattukara at 9 a.m.

Minister for Social Justice M. K. Muneer will preside over the function.

Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, Mr. Kanthapuram said that the yatra was aimed at creating awareness against communal forces threatening the secular fabric of the society.

It would tour all the 13 Assembly constituencies in the district with public receptions at many places.

The yatra would cover Beypore on the inaugural day; Kozhikode South and North constituencies on December 21; Kunnamangalam on December 22; Thiruvambady on December 23; Koduvally on December 24; Balussery on December 25; Elathur on December 26; Koyilandy on December 27; Perambra on December 28; Kuttiyadi on December 29; Nadapuram on December 30 and Vadakkara on December 31.

Indian Union Muslim League State president Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal will inaugurate the valedictory function of the yatra at Vadakara.
