Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala has said that the visit of Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi had no impact on the social or political life in the State.
He told a press conference here on Thursday, before resuming his Kerala Yatra, that “ Modi’s visit has not caused even a ripple in the social or political life of this State.” Though he did not approve of the invitation extended to Mr. Modi by the Sivagiri Madhom to inaugurate the 51 Sree Narayana Dharma Meemamsa Parishat, he did not believe that the BJP leader’s visit had damaged the reputation of Sivagiri Madhom in any way. “But Modi’s visit was unacceptable to the people of Kerala,” he remarked.
He alleged that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) leadership “by trying to influence witnesses in the T.P.Chandrasekharan murder case by intimidation and allurements was also trying to intimidate the judiciary.”
To a question, he said the United Democratic Front had not discussed the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle. Neither had any decision taken about filling the ministerial berth left vacant by the resignation of K.B. Ganesh Kumar. He said there was no possibility of any MLA or any party leaving the UDF.
