The State conference of the Minority Education Samithi, a collective of educational institutions under minority managements in the State, has demanded that the government sort out problems faced by minorities, especially in the education sector.
The leaders, who spoke in various sessions of the two-day conference, demanded that the government take steps to start new educational institutes in minority-concentrated areas where there were a dire need for educational institutions.
NOC for schoolsThe conference also sought a solution to the delay in getting No Objection Certificates (NOC) for the existing CBSE schools under the minority managements in different parts of the State.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who spoke at the conference here on Thursday, promised to favourably consider the fair demands of the minority educational institutes in the State.
Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb, Minister for Minority Affairs Manjalamkuzhi Ali, and Samithi State secretary Nisar Olavanna, among others spoke.
Book releaseA book ‘Nyunapaksha Avakashangalum Aanukoolyangalum,’ (Minority rights and benefits), written by Zubair Nellikkaparamba, was released at the function. Around 2,000 delegates from different parts of the State attended the conference.
