“The dressing of women is not an issue at all while discussing sexual crimes against women. The response from the mind of those watching the women is what matters and these minds are what need to be treated,” says the former Additional Chief Secretary D. Babu Paul.

Speaking at the valedictory function of a media workshop on women empowerment organised by the Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation here on Monday, he said the use of cheer girls during IPL matches was a challenge to the Indian culture and advised the visual media to avoid them.

He opined that every media house needed an ethics committee.

Kerala Press Academy chairman N.P. Rajendran said women would have to face a lot of resistance while trying to make a space in society and advised them to go ahead facing and fighting it.
