The Malabar Chamber of Commerce (MCC) will hold a meeting at the Chamber Hall here at 5 p.m. on Saturday to chalk out steps to discuss the shifting of the headquarters of Kerala Urban and Rural Development Finance Corporation (KURDFC) from Kozhikode to Thiruvananthapuram.
Chamber president Alok Kumar Saboo said here that political parties and other stakeholders would take part in the meeting. The chamber had filed a writ petition along with another organisation called Kozhikode Sustainable Development Initiative to rectify the “injustice”.
Judge P.R. Ramachandran Menon of the High Court of Kerala had passed a judgment on the writ petition directing the Chief Secretary to consider and pass appropriate orders within three months after hearing the petition. The KURDFC had 40 cents of land and a five-storey building with a managing director’s quarters of its own in Kozhikode. But the shifting of the headquarters to Thiruvananthapuram was when the KURDFC functioned well here for last 35 years.
