MBBS fraud accused in judicial custody

The Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-III here has remanded Kavitha Pillai, prime accused in the medical college admission scam, in judicial custody till February 13.

The case related to Kavitha cheating Ubaid, a Mannarkad native, of Rs.35 lakh after offering him an MBBS seat.

He alleged that the transaction had taken place at a hotel on the Kozhikode Bypass Road. Magistrate Titty George had remanded her in police custody for questioning till 5 p.m. on Thursday.

However, the police took her to Ernakulam where she was remanded in connection with another case of medical admission fraud.
