For a designer, fashion is not just about making people look good, but a means to make a statement as well. At Atinuda, the annual designer show of Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology, fashion was used to project strength, empowerment and femininity.

Presented by La-Tiara designer club of the institution, Atinuda is a platform for fashion technology students of the college to showcase their creativity and make their mark in the world of design. The show featured the works in 17 different themes and 175 styles by around 40 designers. The designs were presented on the ramp by students themselves.

The themes included ‘Egyptian Beauty’, ‘Ethnic China’, ‘Empowering Goddess’, ‘Theyyam’, ‘Lal Darwaza’ and so on.

Creativity matters

“In the field of fashion, there is only so much the teachers can help you with. The success of designers depends upon their creativity and the willingness to explore,” said Dalu Krishnadas, fashion choreographer who opened the show. “Keep yourselves updated or you can not survive,” he said offering the best designers from the college a chance to work with some of the best designers in the State. He was also one of the judges of the show.
