LDF to lay siege to Collectorate

April 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - Kozhikode:

As part of a Statewide agitation planned by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) demanding resignation of Finance Minister K.M. Mani, the district unit of the front will lay siege to the Collectorate here on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, LDF district leaders said around 50,000 workers of different parties in the Left fold would participate in the agitation.

Bad example

District convener of the front Mukkam Muhammed said Mr. Mani was setting a bad example for politicians in the country by not stepping down from his post despite being accused of committing a serious financial crime.

Senior LDF leader and CPI(M) State Secretariat member Elamaram Karim will inaugurate the agitation at 10 a.m.

Party workers and agitators from all the 13 Assembly constituencies in the district will line up for the protest in front of the Collectorate.
