KV teachers’ protest on Teachers Day

September 04, 2013 03:09 pm | Updated June 02, 2016 09:11 am IST - Kozhikode:

Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers have condemned the ‘insensitivity’ of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to their demands. They will register their protest against the insensitivity of the Ministry and the KVS by wearing black badges on the occasion of Teachers Day on September 5.

The All India Kendriya Vidyalaya Teachers Association has been pressing for implementation of modified assured career progression (MACP) at par with that of Central government employees, rollback of the increased duty time from seven and a half hours to six hours and 10 minutes, filling of vacancies with fulltime employees, and conversion of the contributory provident fund to the general provident fund scheme.

‘‘The authorities have turned a deaf ear to our demands though we have given a memorandum to the HRD Minister in 2012. We are forced to observe a protest day on September 5,” K. Baburajan, president of the association, said in Kozhikode on Tuesday.
