Kozhikode schools excel in CBSE exams

Almost all major schools in district scored 100 per cent pass

The results of the Class 12 examinations of the majority of CBSE schools in the district were the “best in recent times”. The results were announced on Monday.

Almost all the major CBSE schools registered 100 per cent success in the examination, with a significant increase in the number of students who scored above 75 per cent in their respective disciplines.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 at East Hill scored 100 per cent results, with all 238 students clearing the examinations, 167 of them securing above 75 per cent marks.

“Yes, it is one of the best results in over a decade,” said school Principal Maya George.

MES Raja Residential School Chathamangalam sent 272 students for the examinations this time.

Of this, 122 students secured above 75 per cent marks giving the school one of the best results lately. C.S. Ramesh Kumar, Pricipal, said: “This is one of our best results in 10 years.”

Alphonsa Senior Secondary School, Thamarassery, secured 100 per cent pass in the examination for the 10th year in succession with 22 students winning over 75 per cent marks, also secured first class for 10 of its students.

Silver Hills Public School, Paroppady, which repeated its 100 per cent result this time, also showcased an improved performance with 69 of the 79 students who appeared for the exam bagging distinction with over 75 per cent marks.

Of this, as many as 34 students scored more than 90 per cent marks, said a release from the school here.

According to Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Principal Lalitha Ramachandran, their result was the best in over five years. While all 42 students who took the exams passed this time, over 30 secured above 75 per cent marks in the examinations. “Without any doubt, this is the best result in the last five years,” the Principal said.

The names of some of the prominent schools, number of students who took the exam, pass percentage and the number of students who secured above 75 per cent marks are given below. Dayapuram Residential School, Chathamangalam: 146, 100 per cent, 102; Veda Vyasa Vidyalayam: 110, 100 per cent, 59; Spring Valley School Chathamangalam: 27, 100 per cent, 17; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School Chevayur: 102, 100 per cent, 47.
