M.Tech. students of the Government Engineering College, Kozhikode, have threatened to launch an agitation against the decision of Calicut University to conduct their first-year examination without allowing adequate number of academic days to cover their syllabus.
A release issued on Thursday by a State-level body of M.Tech. students from the college — ‘Technos’ — said admission to the M.Tech. course at the college was completed only on November 18 last year. The university, to which the college was affiliated to, however, had notified January 17 as the date for their first year examination.
“We are given only less than 25 working days to complete the entire syllabus,” said the release quoting M.Tech. students from the college. Students and teachers from the college had already approached the university with their grievance. “If the university is not listening to our serious concerns, we will have no other way but to start an agitation,” said Sagin Tintu, State committee member of Technos, in the release.
