Koyilandy, Kozhikode city in close fight for overall title

220 events complete on Day 4 of Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Festival

With just a day left for the culmination of the five-day Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Festival at Perambra, the Koyilandy educational sub-district has secured 804 points to be a front-runner for the overall title. Kozhikode city is in the second position with 800 points and Balussery in third with 784 points.

Kozhikode city sub-district is maintaining a clear lead in the higher secondary school category with 272 points. With 260 points, Balussery continues to be in the second position.

Koyilandy sub-district secured 238 points and is leading in the high school category. With 233 points, Kozhikode city stood second. In the Upper Primary category, Kozhikode city and Balussery secured 97 points each on Thursday. Kunnummal came close behind with 96 points.

Chombala educational sub-district came to the top position with 73 points in the Upper Primary-level Sanskrit festival on Thursday. Kunnamangalam and Mukkom sub-districts continued in the second position with 68 points each. In the higher secondary school category, Balussery and Koyilandy sub-districts continued in the first and second positions, respectively.

Chombal and Nadapuram educational sub-districts continued to lead in the UP and HS-level Arabic festival with 53 and 67 points, respectively.

On the fourth day, all the venues of the festival were controlled by women. Mainly teachers from various schools took the lead roles. Six lady teachers were assigned to each of the venues to manage the contestants and ensure the timely conducting of the events. Altogether 220 events were completed.

Light Music (Girls): (i) Anjali Jiji, Crescent HSS, Vanimel, (ii) Punnya Pradeep, Govt. Sanskrit HSS Vatakara, (iii) Akshaya S. Satheesh., GVHSS Meppayur.

Elocution (English): (i) Jaikishan Illath, GVHSS Boys Koyilandy, (ii) Fiza Praveen, TIM GHSS, Nadapuram., (iii) P.R. Sneha, GHSS, Narikkuni.

Chakyarkoothu (Boys): (i) Sidharth K.S., GMVHSS Koyilandy, (ii) Anirudh Parameswaran, Rahmaniya School for the Handicapped, (iii) Adwaid M, Perambra HSS.

HS: Mohiniyattam (Girls): (i) Swathika M, Venerini EMHSS, (ii) Revathi Surendran, Providence GHSS, (iii) Bhagya Jagannivasan, GHSS Medical College campus.

Chakkyarkoothu (Boys): (i) Adwaith B.S., Poyilkavu HS, (ii) Sabir P.P., MJHSS, Elettil, (iii) Abhijith Babu, Perambra HSS.
