The child development services (CDS) section of the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS) celebrated its 10th anniversary here on Saturday.

Deputy Mayor Meera Darshak, who opened the event, said that early detection and intervention would help special children overcome their limitations to an extent. The annual day celebrations of IMHANS were also held at the venue. IMHANS director P. Krishnakumar and CDS medical officer Neeni P.M. were present.

According to a press release, CDS, which started functioning at a building on the Kozhikode Medical College campus in 2007 March, is the only such centre in north Kerala.
