The Khadi Grama Soubhagya emporium on Cherootty Road has been attracting a steady flow of customers these days.

At the renovated showroom, curious customers could be seen checking out the novelties.

Though this interest in khadi is not new found, it is evident from the crowd that the range of clientele for khadi is expanding.

Though Gandhians and politicians used to be the loyal clients of khadi, now the younger generation is also showing an interest in the brand.

A group of youngsters were seen checking out the ready-made shirt section at the showroom.

The showroom introducing vibrant colours and innovative designs on the fabric has much to do with the youngsters’ interest.

Women order the running materials at the showroom for making ‘kurtis.’

The silk sari section at the showroom has ladies vying for the attention of the employees.

The pure silk khadi saris that had always been in vogue has transformed into the status of designer wear these days with innovative and attractive designs.

The campaigns and rebates too have a not-so-small role in increasing the popularity of khadi.

Though the government’s attempt to attract its employees to Khadi has failed miserably, the middle class seems to have found it fashionable.

The flow of youngsters to the showrooms may mean that sunnier days are ahead for the swadeshi brand.
