Preparations are in the final phase to host the district-level Keralotsavam competitions from November 30. Over 10 venues have been finalised in various parts of the city to host the nine-day arts and sports events.
Competitions in athletics will begin on the inaugural day at Government Physical Education College Ground. Literary items will be held at CMC Boys School, Elathur from December 3.
The cooperation of various clubs and local sports academies have been sought to host the programmes. This time, competitions in Kalari, Archery and arm wrestling too will add vigour to the competitions. The venue and time of these events will be announced later.
A panel of judges from various fields will be appointed to evaluate each item and declare the results. In the nine-day event, candidates who have already proved their mettle in arts and sports events at the panchayat-level will contest.
There will be separate competitions for boys and girls.
