The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) has appealed to the government that considering the grave situation of infectious diseases and the huge numbers of patients queuing up in hospitals and the residences of doctors, the medical college doctors should be allowed to treat patients wherever possible.

State president of KGMCTA K. Mohanan said in a statement here on Monday that doctors working in medical colleges were forced to turn away patients who come to their residences seeking medical treatment as the government had banned private practice by MCH doctors. In view of the infectious disease across the State, the government should change its policy.
