An 11-year-old girl undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College after the Kaithappoyil road accident has died, taking the death toll to nine. The girl was identified as Khadeeja Niya, daughter of Vennakkodu Mailadamparakkal Abdul Majeed and Safeena. Her sister, one-and-a-half-year-old Fathima Jasa had earlier succumbed to her injuries. Niya’s grandfather, Koduvalli Karuvanpoyil Vadakkekkara Abdurahman, and grandmother Subaida, and other relatives were among the other dead.

The accident occurred when the four-wheeler they were travelling by hit a bus on Saturday.
