IUML blames CPI(M)

August 14, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:43 am IST - Kozhikode:

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State general secretary K.P.A. Majeed has accused the CPI(M) of meting out punishment by its “party court” towards an IUML activist K. Aslam who was acquitted in the C.K. Shibin murder case.

Speaking to journalists here on Saturday, he alleged that the CPI(M) had masterminded the murder of Aslam.

CPI(M) leaders had publicly threatened to eliminate the accused who had been acquitted in the Shibin murder case, he said.

Special Correspondent writes from Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala on Saturday said the murder was ordered by the CPI(M)’s kangaroo court.

Mr. Chennithala said that the situation was grave and urged the government to put the police on alert, considering the history of the sensitive place.
