Inviting birds for a drink and dip

April 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:54 am IST

Summer is at its peak. Like human beings, animals and birds are also reeling under its effect. The Students Army for Vadakara Environment (SAVE), launched by a collective of environmentalists called Green Community and the office of the Vadakara Education Sub-District, has come forward with a helping hand to thirsty birds.

Around one lakh students from 150 schools under the educational sub-district are participating in the project named Pakshikku Kudineer , (drinking water for birds), which was started last year.—Staff Reporter
