Namith Najeeb from Kuttichira, Kozhikode, was awarded the gold medal for all-round performance at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, (IIM-K) at the convocation for the 15 batch of postgraduate diploma programme which was held on the IIM-K campus recently. The award, according to a release issued here, is in recognition of his contributions to both the institute as well as society during his studies on the campus.

Mr. Namith was working with the MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram, as Assistant Professor before making it to the IIM.

Every year on the occasion of the convocation, the institute awards the gold medal for the best all-round performer in the graduating batch. “But its not very often that someone from the home town receives the honour,” said Mr. Namith.

Mr. Namith was an active member of the Students’ Placement Committee of IIM-K from 2011 to 2013. He was also involved in several community development initiatives through organisations such as IEEE and Yuva Sahithee Samajam.

He was an international finalist in the Lufthansa Case Challenge 2012 (an international management contest) and was the campus champion in the Hindustan Unilever L.I.M.E Season 4. Mr. Namith is the son of V. Najeeb and K. Nadira of Kuttichira.
