‘Govt. should handle stray dog issue on its own terms’

August 27, 2016 02:08 am | Updated 08:35 am IST - Kozhikode:

BJP State general secretary K. Surendran has said the State government should deal with the stray dog issue in its own terms and not hide behind Union Minister Maneka Gandhi’s orders.

“The dogs that pose threat to human beings should be killed. As an animal rights activist, Maneka Gandhi has the right to express her opinion and fight for her cause. But it is the State government that should take a decision on the matter,” he said here on Friday. Criticising the government for its double standards on self-financing medical college issue, Mr. Surendran alleged that the government’s move defeated the good intentions of NEET.

Fee revision flayed

“Fee hike for students in merit seats cannot be supported.

“The State government is helping self-financing college managements hiding behind court orders. The State should not bow before college managements,” Mr. Surendran said.
