Good show by district in SSLC

Registering a two per cent leap from its last year’s figures, the Kozhikode revenue district has secured a 97.14 per cent success when the results of the SSLC examination were announced by Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb on Wednesday.

Kozhikode has also made a significant improvement in the number of students, who bagged A+ score for all subjects this time.

As many as 1,876 students won A+ for all subjects this time against the last year’s figures of 1,413.

Over 45,000 students from three education districts of Vadakara, Kozhikode and Thamarassery had appeared for the SSLC examinations this time.

While the Kozhikode educational district secured 95.65 per cent success, the Thamarassery educational district bagged a 97.31 per cent success.

Vadakara educational district made it even better by fetching a winning percentage of 98.34.

The number of students, who obtained A+ for all the subjects, is 618, 626 and 630 respectively for the three educational districts.

According to K.P. Sheeba, chairperson of the District Panchayat Standing Committee for Education, the improved show by the district in the SSLC examination was a result of various programmes conceived and successfully implemented by the district panchayat for the SSLC students this time.

“The peer group tutorials and the workshops we conducted for selected students in the government and aided sector helped in getting such a result,” she said.

Many schools in the rural areas as well as in the city limits have got 100 per cent success this time while some schools like the Kuttiyadi Government Higher Secondary School and the St. Antony’s HSS Kannoth have missed the cent per cent mark by one per cent.
