The Calicut Heritage Forum and Calicut Regional Chapter of INTACH put forward a list of measures to be undertaken to preserve heritage structures, buildings and monuments which are facing destruction due to lack of conservation measures and the negligence of authorities.

A committee will be formed to take steps including legal action for the conservation of these buildings. Another committee will be formed to raise public awareness on the issue and make them understand the need to protect them.

A request will be forwarded to the government to establish a statutory heritage commission with suo-motu powers for preventive action. Urgent steps will be taken to list and map the heritage structures in Kozhikode as per the National Mission on Monuments and Antiquities. Some of the buildings which will be part of the list include the Asoka Hospital, Comtrust building and Meteorology Department office near the Kozhikode beach.
