An accused in a theft case hurled his footwear at the Magistrate at the Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-I here on Thursday soon after orders were passed extending his remand in judicial custody. However, the footwear did not hit the Magistrate, the police said. Magistrate P.T. Prakashan had denied bail and extended the judicial custody of P. Rafeek, 40, from Perumbavoor, in a case pertaining to pick-pocketing on a city bus at Mananchira on October 20, 2012. The Town police registered a case against Rafeek under Section 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) of Indian Penal Code. He was produced before Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-I. This case would be considered along with his previous theft case, the court said.
