Exempt teachers from poll duty: Kerala teachers' forum

March 07, 2014 01:34 pm | Updated May 19, 2016 06:51 am IST - Kozhikode:

The State committee of the Kerala Aided Higher Secondary Teachers’ Association (KAHSTA) has urged the Election Commission to exempt higher secondary schoolteachers from the duties of the Lok Sabha elections on April 10 since they would be engaged in the SSLC and higher secondary school exam paper valuation around that time.

The teachers’ forum, in a release issued here on Thursday, also exhorted the authorities to give options for the place of duty.

The release said the valuation camp for the SSLC would begin on March 25 while the valuation of the higher secondary school examination would start on March 29. If the teachers were to be put on the election duty, it would definitely delay the exam results, the release said.
