Encroachers evicted from Pettah ground

July 19, 2013 03:52 pm | Updated 03:52 pm IST - Kozhikode:

Feroke panchayat officials on Thursday evicted several encroachers from Pettah ground.

An official release by the District Administration said that the encroachers were small-time traders operating fish and vegetable stalls in the area for the past many years. The small-time traders were functioning in the place without taking the necessary permits from the local pancahayat authorities.

The District Administration also said that any further encroachments into the public property would be dealt with strictly by the authorities.
