Dayapuram Cultural centre celebrates 30th anniversary

Socialist Janata (Democratic) president and writer M.P. Veerendrakumar inaugurated the 30th anniversary celebrations of Dayapuram Educational and Cultural Centre at Chathamangalam here on Saturday.

He said the people, especially the younger generation, should be able to understand the real meaning of human relationships and the necessity of peaceful coexistence between different communities. “Our education system should be aimed at enabling them to achieve that noble task,” he said.

Former Foreign Secretary and president of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies in New Delhi Salman Haider was the chief guest.

Scholarships given

As many as 30 scholarships of Rs.20,000 each were given to meritorious and needy students in graduate level in different colleges.

Foreign dignitaries Abdul Azeez Al Ansari and Saud Azeez Al Ansari laid foundation stones for an auditorium and a stadium respectively on the centre campus on the occasion.

A book on Dayapuram Cultural Centre and the magazine of the Dayapuram Residential School were released at the function.
