Former Kerala Sports Council president T.P. Dasan on Saturdaydenied the allegations levelled against the council when he was at the helm during the previous regime of the Left Democratic Front.

Former athlete Anju Bobby George, who had to resign as the council president shortly after the new LDF government took charge, had alleged that there were gross irregularities in the conduct of the Sports Lottery programme during Mr. Dasan’s tenure.

“The government had a profit of Rs.9.5 crore from the Sports Lottery, which was spent on the development of sports in the State,” Mr. Dasan said at a press conference here on Saturday.
