Dance workshop from tomorrow

Rasavikalpam, a 10-day dance festival and dance workshop being organised by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy, will be held here from November 1 to 10. CMI Public School, Devagiri, will host the programme from November 1 to 4, and the remaining leg of the programme will be held at Chavara Cultural Centre. The workshop will focus on the traditional learning methods of classical dances and is intended for dance students.

The workshop is being organised jointly by the Navarasam Charitable Trust, Chavara Cultural Centre and Sadbhavana World School. Participants will be given certificates. The workshop on Kuchipudi will be held from November 1 to 5 by dancer Manju Bhargavi while the Odissi/ Chau workshop will be held from November 6 to 10 under the leadership of Mayurbhanj Chau and Rakesh Sai Babu. The workshop will be held from 6.30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. on all days and will be followed by live dance performance.

Geetanjali Acharya will present Odissi on November 1 while Rajendra Gangani will perform Kathak on November 2. Bharatanatyam will be performed on all the remaining days by Aparna Ramaswami on November 3, Divya Deva Guptapu on November 4, Veena Nair and Dhanya Nair on November 5, Sruthi Jayan on November 6, Rajasree Warrier on November 7, Meenakshi Sreenivasan on November 8, Seema Iyer on November 9 and Swetha Prachande on November 10.
