The “furore” over the suspension of a party member from the Koyilandy area committee is a result of “media manipulations”, district committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has said.
The committee said the suspension of the party member was made after proper enquiry. In a communication issued here, CPI (M) district secretary T.P. Ramakrishnan said N.V. Balakrishnan was suspended based on some articles that he wrote in a foreign newspaper violating the declared principles and policies of the party. The writer himself had acknowledged the slip-up and expressed his regret, he claimed.
Mr. Ramakrishan also said the reports related to the resignation of Koyilandy municipal chairperson K. Santha following the suspension of Mr. Balakrishnan were baseless. “The stance of the party is that she should continue in her office,” Mr. Ramakrishan said.
