The Court of Principal Subordinate Judge here on Wednesday issued directions to attach properties, including furniture and vehicle, belonging to 16 government offices in the District Collectorate here.

K. Arbi, judge, issued orders on a complaint filed by M. Janardhanan of Ramanatturkara citing non-payment of compensation for the land acquired for Knowledge Park at Ramanattukara.

The order covers computers and accessories in possession of the District Treasury Office, Motor Vehicles Department, Section Office of Survey Superintendent, Office of Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition), Office of Deputy Collector (Land Revenue), District Information Technology Cell, Minority Welfare Section Office, Department of Mining and Geology Office, District Labour Office, District Medical Office, Motor Vehicles Department Zonal Office, District Economic and Statistical Office, Local Fund Audit Office, District Planning Office, Finance Department’s Office and a Tata Spacio Car owned by Health Department.

The petitioner alleged that the State government had acquired 78 acres of land for the construction of Knowledge City at Ramanattukara, but it had failed to disburse adequate compensation.

The land was acquired in 2010. Mr. Janardhanan approached the court and the court issued orders to attach the properties of government offices.
