The Kerala State Youth Welfare Board, in association with the Technical Cell of the National Service Scheme, is organising a convention of young entrepreneurs at the Cyberpark here on January 24 and 25.

Expert Member of the Board and general convener of the event, C.K. Subair, told presspersons here on Thursday that the meet, titled Fusion 2015, would be inaugurated by Industries and IT Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty.

The meet aims at developing IT in northern Kerala, besides acquainting young entrepreneurs with the facilities of the Cyberpark.

Around 600 selected students and young entrepreneurs from Kasaragod to Thrissur would take part in the two-day convention. They were shortlisted from more than 1,500 applicants based on the merit of their proposals. Around 100 new entrepreneurs would also attend the meet.

Discussions with CEOs and Directors of noted companies to develop brand ideas, debates and classes by life-skill trainers would be part of the convention.

Selected participants from the meet would attend a workshop to be conducted by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India. Entrepreneurs who have bagged the Youth Welfare Board’s awards would lead various sessions at the workshop. Good proposals from the would-be entrepreneurs would be submitted to the State government, Mr. Subair said.
