Congress secularism a sham: BJP

V. Muraleedharan opens BJP Lok Sabha poll convention in Kozhikode

March 17, 2014 01:10 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:30 pm IST - Kozhikode:

BJP State president V. Muraleedharan, on Sunday, alleged that the Congress leadership in Kerala was adopting a “dual stance” towards caste and religion-based organisations.

Inaugurating the party’s Lok Sabha election convention in the Kozhikode constituency, Mr. Muraleedharan said, the 'latest incident' that took place at the Bishop’s House in Idukki proclaimed the submissive attitude of a national party towards some religious sections.

The BJP leader said the Congress party had quite a different attitude when a row erupted following the visit of KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran to the Mannam Samadhi and his return without meeting NSS General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair.

BJP district president P. Raghunath presided over the convention.

Party’s Lok Sabha candidate for the Kozhikode constituency C.K. Padmanabhan and Lok Janshakthi Party’s State president M. Mehboob were present at the election convention meet.
