Education Minister opens new sub-centre

After long years of plea by civil service aspirants from the Malabar region, a sub-centre of the State Civil Service Academy has finally started functioning at West Hill in Kozhikode city.

Minister for Education P.K. Abdu Rabb inaugurated the functioning of the new sub-centre at a special function, here, on, Friday.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Rabb said the centre would come to the help of the entire State for increasing the number of Keralites in the civil service sector.

“Students who come out victorious in the preliminary examinations from the centre will be given free coaching to attend the main examination,” he added.

Mr. Rabb also promised help on the part of the State government to sponsor the flight ticket, food and accommodation for the students to attend the final interview in New Delhi.

“Altogether 110 students will be trained in the first batch at the sub–centre,” the Minister added.

A. Pradeepkumar, MLA, presided over the inaugural function. Mayor A.K. Premajam, Continuing Education Centre Director K.P. Noufal and District Collector C.A. Latha were present.
