Chevayur sub-district finishes second in high school, higher secondary sections

Kozhikode City sub-district has once again emerged overall champions in the Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Festival that concluded at Kunnamangalam on Thursday. The City sub-district scored 333 points in the high school category and 376 points in the higher secondary category. The Chevayur sub-district that put up a tough fight for the top spot finished the race in the second position scoring 310 points in the high school category and 372 in the higher secondary category.

In the upper primary (UP) category, Vadakara sub-district emerged champions with 137 points while Balussery, with 136 points, came second. The Koyilandy sub-district bagged the third position in both the high school and UP categories with 392 and 129 points respectively while Balussery, with 312 points, bagged the third position in the higher secondary category.

The Perambra sub-district were the winners in the UP Samskritolsavam, scoring 83 points followed by Balussery (80) and Koyilandy (80). Kunnummal and Chevayur shared the title for the high school Samskritolsavam with 79 points while Balussery that put up a strong fight till the end scored 77 points to emerge second.

Nadapuram and Feroke sub-districts shared the Arabic Sahityolsavam title in the UP category with 65 points while Kunnamangalam and Koduvally, with 63 points, shared the second place. Feroke, Mukkam, Kozhikode Rural, and Koyilandy jointly bagged the high school Arabic Sahityolsavam title with 87 points.

Silver Hills yet again

Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, which played a prominent part in winning the title for the Kozhikode City sub-district, became the overall champion among schools in both high school and higher secondary category, scoring 184 and 221 points respectively. The Memunda Higher Secondary School that emerged second in the higher secondary category with 121 points had to be content with the third place in the high school category with 116 points. However, the school compensated for the setback by emerging winners in the UP category with 56 points. The Perambra Higher Secondary School bagged the second place in the high school category with 119 points while the GHSS, Kokkallur, scored 103 points to bag the third place in the higher secondary category.

St. Francis English Medium School bagged the second place in UP category scoring 50 points while the third place went to Presentation Higher Secondary School.

The Government High School, Cheruvannur, bagged the title in the UP-Samskritotsavam while Mannur Krishna AUPS (42) and GMUPS, Elettil, (41) came second and third respectively. Chinmaya EMHSS (58) emerged winners in the high school category followed by Perambra HSS (51) and Sevamandir Post Basic School, Ramanattukara (50).

In the Arabic Sahityolsavam, Vanimel MUPS with 55 points emerged winners in the UP category followed by AMUPS Makkoottam and MUM VHSS, Vadakara, with 48 and 41 points respectively. PTM High School, Kodiyathur, became the winners in the high school category with 71 points while MUM VHSS, Vadakara, bagged the second place with 69 points, followed by Ilahiya HSS, Kappad, with 53 points.
