Chief Minister to inaugurate Kudumbasree fete on May 19

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the 15 anniversary celebrations of the State Kudumbasree Mission at Swapnanagari in Kozhikode on May 19. According to a press release, the Chief Minister will declare Kerala as a complete ‘Ayalkkoottam’ State at the inaugural function to be held at 4.30 p.m.

The celebrations will begin at Swapnanagari on May 10 with the culinary exhibition-cum-sale of the Kudumbasree units from all over the State. The expo aims at introducing to Kozhikode the traditional cuisine and eating methods of various districts. An exhibition of various products of the Kudumbasree will also be held simultaneously.

A State-level theatre festival on May 17 and 18 and various cultural programmes and tug-of-war of Kudumbasree units from May 10 to 19 will be an important attraction over these days. As part of the celebrations, all the CDS chairpersons in the State will be trained on the activities of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission and the activities to be taken out by Kudumbasree units from May 17 to 19.

Ministers of various departments as well as social- cultural- and political leaders are expected to take part in the inaugural function, the release added.
