Central force deployed in district

Central paramilitary forces have been deployed at Nadapuram, Vadakara and Thamassery regions in the district as part of stepping up of security for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

They will camp at the Kottakkal Islamic Academy Higher Second School, Kuttiyadi Ideal Public School, Valayam Government High School, and Korangadu Higher Secondary School.

Five companies of Indo-Tibetan Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, and Central Reserve Police Force have reached the district till now.

They will carry out route marches in trouble-prone areas. The local police have also intensified night patrolling in view of the polls.

There will be surveillance at bus stations and railway stations as well as checks at lodges and other places.

A special team has also been constituted to nab those accused who are absconding in pending cases, officials says.
