The Kerala Civil Supplies Officers’ Association demanded that the State government appoint more officials for the renewal of ration cards. A press release here said that most offices lacked enough rationing inspectors and the existing inspectors were finding it hard to monitor the activities in the regions allotted to them. The officers said that the Rs.500 per ration shop for the renewal process was inadequate and demanded that the amount be increased. They also demanded special allowances to all officers involved in the duty.
