Approve teachers’ posts: KHSTU

March 05, 2014 11:46 am | Updated May 19, 2016 06:25 am IST - Kozhikode:

The State Council of the Kerala Higher Secondary Teachers Union (KHSTU) has demanded that the government approve without any delay the posts of teachers who have been appointed to the newly created additional batches of the higher secondary schools in the State.

A State council meeting of the union convened here on Saturday observed that though as many as 349 teachers were appointed to the additional batches of the higher secondary schools last year in different disciplines, the authorities were yet to officially create these posts and hence all of them were working in their respective schools without any appointment records.

“The Finance Department is delaying the decision to approve the posts though it was ratified by the Education Department several months ago,” it said. The union said the government should not also further delay the promotions due to teachers.

KHSTU State president M.M. Shafi presided.
