The city has not yet recovered from the festival mood set in by the State School Arts Festival and here is yet another festival to pump up the festive beat.

The nursery students all over the State have come together in Kozhikode for the All-Kerala Nursery Arts Festival.

The 33th edition of the festival, organised by Chitranjali Arts and cultural Organisation, began at the Tagore Centenary Hall in Kozhikode on Thursday.

The two-day festival is being organised in four stages titled Geethanjali, Pushpanjali, Raganjali, and Varnanjali.

Solo dance, group dance, story-telling (English and Malayalam), action song (Malayalam), and group song (Malayalam and English) were the major competitions held on Thursday.

It was mesmerising to watch the little singers matching steps to pep up the action song event. At the same time, the Malayalam story-telling competition, in the nearby stage, exceeded expectations with the kids leaving no stone unturned to make their story sound realistic.

Folk themes were mainly used for the solo dance competition where kids appeared with props such as baskets and bird cages.

Cinematic dance (group), Oppana, fancy dress, action song (Malayalam), light music, recitation, and mono act are the competitions to be held on Friday.

District Police Chief A.V. Geroge will be the chief guest at the valedictory ceremony of the festival to be held in the evening.

A. Pradeep Kumar, MLA, will preside over the function.
