Additional District Magistrate K.P. Ramadevi will visit the nine-year-old elder brother of the girl, aged 6, who recently succumbed to injuries after allegedly being tortured by her father and stepmother.

The visit will be made on Monday as per an order of the Chief Minister to conduct a detailed inquiry. After the incident, the boy had been shifted to the house of his father’s relatives at Thiruvambadi.

The inquiry report, with details about the entire incident and testimony of the relatives, will be submitted to the Chief Minister by the end of this week.

Ms. Ramadevi said she would meet all the relatives of the victim and the neighbours who had earlier reported the matter to the Childline.

Similarly, the version of the accused parents too would be included in the report, she added. As part of the continuing police inquiry into the incident, the accused couple — Subrahmanyan Namboodiri and Devika — were released in police custody on Saturday. They were taken to various locations in the city as part of collecting evidence.
