P. Surendran, 40, from Chombala died in the Government Medical College Hospital here on Monday of injuries sustained in a road accident on May 27.

He was hit by scooter ridden by a civil police officer and was initially admitted to a hospital in Thalasserry and later shifted to the medical college hospital. After being discharged from the hospital, his relatives had to bring him back after his condition worsened. There were allegations that the hospital authorities had moved him to the ward without performing a surgery and he had been discharged without checking the scan report revealing injuries on his head.
