A publishing platform for new writers

August 20, 2016 03:52 am | Updated 03:52 am IST - Kozhikode:

Have an unpublished work and cannot afford to get it published? Vigil Human Rights Forum is all set to help such new authors. ‘Sargavasantham’ is the sponsored book scheme of Vigil that publishes the unpublished works of first-time authors, be it short story, poetry or essay (topics other than politics and religion).

Applications are invited from authors who wish to be part of the 2016 edition of the scheme. The authors should furnish a self-attestation that the works are their own, and that they are in no way related to works that have already been published. The entries can be either handwritten, neatly typed or in CD format. Students should send consent letters from the respective heads of institutions. Priority will be given to youngsters and students. Applications from those who have already published their works will not be accepted. The selected works will not be sent back.

The selection committee consists of five noted writers. The entries shall be sent to ‘Convenor, Vigil Sponsored Books, Pranavam, 44/2376, Thiruthiyad, Kozhikode- 673004 and should reach the address by October 15, 2016. For details, contact 9895716648 or 8547031280 or 9447445521.

This is the 4 edition of Sargavasantham that has been instrumental in publishing around 500 books so far.
