A platform for students to show their worth

June 21, 2014 12:07 pm | Updated 12:07 pm IST - Kozhikode:

Students of Fashion Design at the Brainnet Centre for Design and Management in Kozhikode got an opportunity to showcase whatever they have learnt at the exhibition-cum-sale of their products here on Friday.

The show, organised at the Police Club Hall on Pavamani road, features clothes like saris, dress materials, kurtis, kids wear, nighties, and pardhas designed by the diploma as well as degree students of Fashion Design at the school.

Attention to details

Each piece shows the attention the students have given to details such as stitching, embroidery, and painting.

The saris displayed here are latest in trend and could rival those displayed in any boutique in the city.

Also on show are jewellery made by the students from eco-friendly materials such as terracotta, paper, cloth, coconut shell, jute, bamboo and so on.

Beaded baskets, paintings, wall hangings, dry flowers, door mats and other craft items are also displayed at the show which concludes on Saturday.

Principal of the school Mohan Kumar says the show is being organised to display the products of students who have already completed their courses at the school.

The school is organising such a programme for the second consecutive year.

Apart from fashion design, the school also offers diploma and degree courses in interior design, Mr. Mohan Kumar says.
